Numerous energetic drinks contain big amounts of caffeine which causes temporary increase of the energy. Energetic drinks contain big percentage of sugar and other substances which only temporarily allow a flow of energy, but they also bring along some health risks that cannot be taken lightly.
The energetic drinks that contain sugar add to weight gain and the intake of too much caffeine can lead to: increase in the blood pressure, nervousness, irritation, insomnia and tachycardia.
Furthermore, combining these drinks with alcohol adds more danger. Namely, their parallel consumption can slow down the feeling of intoxication (the time in which you become drunk is prolonged) which can lead to bigger intake of alcohol and with these come all the problems usually connected with alcohol consumption.
The occasional consumption of energetic drinks is allowed. But, if you feel tired constantly, and you want to change that, pick healthier ways to increase your energy. Sleep, be physically active and try a healthy nutrition. If this does not help, seek medical help. Sometimes, the fatigue may point to some medical conditions such as hyperthyroidism or anemia.
