According to the American Heart Association, the safe amount of sugar to consume is three teaspoons or 15-grams. But in truth, most of us are actually consuming about 22-teaspoons or 110 grams.
Most Americans start out their days with a sugary orange juice, which typically has more sugar per ounce than you can find in a coke. In addition, they may eat sugary cereals, candy, a sugar based caffeinated coffee drink, a doughnut… And this is not by accident – the margin advertising companies have is growing daily and they are using your children to force you into buying more and more sugary foods.
