Ancient Greeks dedicated their widely used plant called Ros maris, or rosemary, to the goddess Aphrodite.
New research has proven that rosemary acts as a powerful antioxidant which prevent premature aging. It is loaded with flavonoids, compounds which strengthen blood vessels, stimulate blood flow, and improve circulation. Rosemary is excellent for treating headaches, stimulates hair growth and improves memory.
A 1995 study conducted by a group of scientists, focused on the properties of rosemary. It was shown that the plant is a great diuretic, which means it’s ideal for detoxification of liver. Moreover, it is a potent anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant agent, so it’s perfect for those with throat, nose, and ear infections, as well as bronchitis.
Furthermore, rosemary relieves muscle pain, sciatica, and rheumatism, and it’s great for treating fatigue. Combine the rosemary essential oil with some neutral one, such as sunflower oil, to use it topically. You can add a rosemary tea in your bath to soothe rheumatism symptoms.
Rosemary extract prevents dandruff and baldness as it improves the blood flow in the scalp area.
But, it is not recommended for kids, and pregnant or nursing women should use very small amounts of this plant in their dishes.
This shrubby plant blooms in April and September in warm places, safe from wind, and in sandy soil. It can reach up to 1 to 3 meters in height. During the cold winter months, make sure you keep it warm. Once the flowers bloom fully, collect them, and you can harvest the leaves throughout the whole year.
To prepare a rosemary tincture, which relieves the symptoms of rheumatism, you need 20 grams of rosemary and 100 ml of alcohol. Soak the plant in the alcohol for ten days, and then strain it. Take 15 to 20 drops of this tincture and you can dissolve them in a glass of water. This tincture can be as well used to improve the blood circulation.
Tea prepared from rosemary is ideal for people who suffer from stubborn headaches. You can use both, the flowers and leaves to prepare the tea. Warm rosemary tea will treat your stomach cramps, cold, headaches, and tension. To make this tea, you need a cup of boiling water, and a teaspoon of dried or fresh rosemary leaves. Let the leaves steep in the water for about 15 minutes. Consume two cups of warm rosemary tea a day, but not before bedtime.
You can inhale the vapors of rosemary tea to treat your depression. This method is great for relaxing your muscles, and relieving your digestive disturbance, and menstrual cramps.
Prepare a rosemary wine to improve your blood circulation. To make the wine, add 2 tablespoons of rosemary flowers and leaves in 1 liter of white wine. Allow it to stay for six days, and then strain it. Consume a brandy cup of this wine prior to eating or drinking anything. In this way, you will stimulate the circulation, calm the heart, relieve urinary infections, rheumatism, join inflammation, and gout.
Hair Growth Serum:
To make hair growth serum you need 8 drops of rosemary essential oil, 50 ml of sweet almond oil, 3 drops of clary sage essential oil, and 6 drops of lavender essential oil. Mix the ingredients and apply the mixture on your scalp and hair shafts. Spread the serum evenly with the help of a brush. You can use this serum every other day, after taking a shower. Not only that it will stimulate hair growth, but this serum will make your hair smell wonderful.
Prepare a mixture from 3 drops of rosemary essential oil, a teaspoon of honey, and 2 tablespoon of organic cold pressed coconut oil, and apply it on your hair shafts, scalp, and hair ends. Fix your hair in a bun and put on a shower cup. Place an old towel onto your pillow to prevent messing it, and go to bed. The rosemary oil stimulates hair growth, honey hydrates and nourishes the hair, and coconut oil prevents hair loss. The next morning, wash your hair, and you will immediately notice positive results.
