BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU EAT: Fruits and Vegetables That Contain the Most Poisons in Them

Although we think that by consuming fruits and vegetables we intake healthy food, after this article you will take more care of what you enter in your body.


Each year the global organization that operates under the name Environmental Working Group (EWG) publishes a list of vegetables and fruits that contain the most and the least pesticides.

Apples are on the top of this list which contains foods with the most pesticides for 50 years now, because they are usually sprayed before and after picking in order to stay fresh longer.

Second year in a row, the avocado is on the top of the list of “purest” foods.

Potatoes contain the most pesticides in terms of their weight, the average peppers are found to contain 15 different pesticides off season, and sherry tomatoes, peaches, apples and beans contain about 13 different sorts of pesticides.

Yet in spite of pesticides which can be found in some fruits and vegetables, scientists do not recommend not to use them, but to consume organically grown products instead.
